Who are the millennials? According to a blog by Raysa Leer, millennials are those people who were born from the 1980s to 2010.

Millennials are “go-getters”. If there’s an opportunity at hand, millennials will get it right away. If there is none, they will definitely build a door. These people refuse to follow the status quo, and the traditional way that was taught by the Generation X, Boomers, and Silent.

Since when did millennial care about entrepreneurship? According to Maria Hollenhorst, millennials admire startup founders and revere self-employment, that is, despite a tough economy. If millennials can’t beat unemployment, there is always a way for everything. If they can’t have a boss, they make their own their “boss”.

Mark Zuckerberg

By word of mouth, Mark Zuckerberg‘s story has reached the hearts of people around the world. A college drop-out of Harvard University, Zuckerberg made Facebook in his dorm room. Matt Mullenweg

Matt Mullenweg is known for being the web developer and founder of the open web software WordPress. Matt worked for CNetworks for a year and left the job after founding Automattic.

Daniel Ek is the founder of the online music streaming, that is, Spotify. Spotify now has 20m+ paid subscribers, according to This Week In Start Ups.

Vicente Fernandez

With a back-story of being a sports editor and student-athlete in highschool, Fernandez in 2012 launched SportsManias, which aggregates news, tweets, standings, and rumors related to sports games. His co-founder is his own mother. In an interview of, Fernandez remarkably said that starting a business with his own mother is challenging.

Ross McCray

McCray‘s startup, VideoAmp, advertises itself as the go-to solution for advertisers specifically on the Web. With this, clients can perceive how users respond to video ads across multiple devices. The California-based company has raised more than $17 million in funding so far.

Josh Bruno

Bruno is the co-founder of Hometeam, is a company that helps households with home health aides with seniors in need of care. With its tagline “We’re Changing  Home Care for the Better”, Hometeam has employees who are caregivers.

Jordan Maron

The hit YouTuber–better known by his alias, CaptainSparklez, most of his videos consist of him playing the popular game Minecraft. He launched a gaming studio called XReal, which has nine million YouTube subscribers and counting.

Vlad is a co-founder of Robinhood, a stock-trading app, which does not require any fee in stock trading. As in zero. The company has raised a total of $66 million in venture capital funding.

From a school drop out to homeschooling, Spartz is now the co-founder of Dose Media, a positive-only news site that clocks 50 million monthly visitors. He also founded MuggleNet, a site which caters to Harry Potter fans.

Ivanka Trump

Despite coming from a prominent family (Yes, the Trump Family), Ivanka, manages to build her own brand. Ivanka Trump empowers women especially those who buy her products. Her famous tagline –#WomenWhoWork, features women and its ability to contribute in the industy.

Gisele Bundchen

Aside from being one of the top-paid fashion models of all time, Gisele ventured into business. After her modeling career, she founded a skin-care company named Sejaa Pure Skin Care.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is a reality TV show actress, and no wonder, an entrepreneur as well. She co-founded the company ShoeDazzle, a California-based online fashion subscription service.
